day 22 ride day 7 Connelsville to Pittsburgh

Image
The day is supposed to be 57 miles to Pittsburgh. There was confusion because Joe really wanted a picture of everybody at the end. Then he found out some people were going to the end. They were going to the bike shop to get their bikes ready to ship home and in my case I have a mechanical problem with the squeaking thing and my right brake. Benjo wanted to meet at the Hot meadow bridge but everybody's traveling at different times at different rates and there's no way that people will wait there for a picture. I suggested that the hotel people drive by the campground and get a picture since the camping people had to wait till 8:30 to leave for the luggage pickup. That's what we ended up doing except for Dale who was in a hurry to get home and took off. So we left the hotel at 7:30 in the morning and then we got our group picture. From there we were split up the rest of the day. 25ish miles put us at West Newton at about 10:00 in the morning and we didn't want...

It's cold today. 51 degrees at 8am high today 60. We should have 48 miles to go today. Snacks and lunch at 28 mi in Ohiopyle.  multiple little Bridges. Lots and lots of waterfalls.  not looking forward to climbing that in a couple days. Our luggage was not here when we arrived and our rooms weren't quite ready. Once we got in our room we've got a lovely view of the river.   again, I'm so glad we're not camping. We're going to meet at 5:30 to go out to dinner.  Dinner was lovely. I had a roasted vegetable salad. Paul had chicken fingers and french fries. Next we wanted ice cream so we found a little ice cream cart 2 mi away and it had really good ice cream. Next door they had an escape room and next door to that there was a guy dressed up in a Ghostbusters outfit. Some customers at the ice cream ...

Today we are to do 44 miles and have 2 tunnels. We are staying in a bike hostel. 6 girls in one, 6 guys in the other. And the others in a bunkhouse.     The weather report looks like thunderstorms all day tomorrow. They were talking a little bit about getting a ride instead of riding. But the consensus says we're going to start out and try it at 8:00 in the morning. The trail was so much nicer today. No mud puddles. All hard packed. We could actually look at the scenery and not worry about the treacherous trail.   we started out in the fog and about an hour in had about an hour's worth of rain. All right looking good but it brightened up.  I think there's three tunnels we went through  this is the Mason-Dixon line  The Eastern Continental divide  our hostel  The girls room  The main room. We stopped at the Dolla...
