day 38 to Devil's Tower via Mt Rushmore, Crazy horse, Wind Cave NP, and Jewel Cave

We had a big wind storm last night. I thought the camper would tip over. Today we're going to try to see several parks that are close together. Our first stop was Mount Rushmore. About 16 miles farther on we found crazy horse. They refused to be a national monument and refused Federal funding because they didn't want to lose artistic control and by that token our national park card wouldn't get us in and we had to pay.
20 Miles farther on we came to Wind Cave NP. Their elevator is closed for renovation so we couldn't go in the cave. It is sort of two parks, one park on the surface with bison, deer, elk prairie dogs and ferrets the other underground with some unusual cave formations.
this is the explored section of the cave.
we saw our own pronghorn antelope. our last stop of the day was Jewel Cave NP. We had an appointment for a tour at 1:00 so the morning was a bit rushed trying to make sure we were there on time but we timed it perfectly and had lunch before we went in. it's 47° all year long in the cave
It was 700 steps and ladders.
From there we had a 96 mile drive to devil's Tower. I finally got to take a picture of the cute little Amish signs
But finally we got to see it nope, that one's a teaser
our campground is literally at the base of it. The campground shows the movie 'Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind' every night. They also have a group bonfire just across from our campsite.
